Thanks to the contribution received through the Sustainable Investments 4.0 call for tenders, the company was able to invest in the NewChain4.0 project, which allows for high quality chains that are inexpensive compared to the market, safe as they are able to withstand various loads with high tensile strength, and ecologically sustainable. With a view to energy sustainability, the new product, as designed, will reduce the replacement of worn chains and, consequently, maintenance costs, reducing waste of resources and extending product life.<\/p>\n
The company has increased its machinery fleet to meet Industry 4.0 requirements through the purchase of two key machines for the project. The first machine, the Chain Bending Machine, is a bending machine for the production of a continuous chain with high surface quality. The second, the Chain Welding Machine, is a machine required for the second step of production, i.e. for automatic welding and complete deburring. The new compressors included in the investment are also equipped with a control system to verify the machine’s performance, and are designed to implement energy efficiency.<\/p>\n
With the dual objective of reducing environmental impact and lowering energy costs, the investment also included the installation of a photovoltaic system.<\/p>\n
Lastly, the investment programme also covered the costs of masonry work strictly related to the installation of the photovoltaic system and more specifically to the new production. The new headquarters in Via Milano, in which the property has made other important investments, brings together the previous locations of MF CATENIFICIO FRIGERIO and aspires to be called \u2018chain city\u2019.<\/p>\n
